Residenza Giotto B&B is in the heart of the Historical Center, a few steps from the most important monuments and museums of the city.
Completely renovated recently, our B&B is on the top floor of an old 1800's building with elevator, on the corner of Piazza San Giovanni where the Duomo of Florence, Giotto's bell tower and the Baptistery are; and the very central Via Roma famous for its prestigious designer shops.
With us you will find an elegant and friendly environment to make you feel at home.
Residenza Giotto is also a very comfortable solution even for those who are in Florence for business. The station Firenze Santa Maria Novella, the Congress center and the exhibition center at the Fortezza da Basso which hosts many prestigious fairs, are in fact very close to us.
From some of our rooms and from the Reception you will be able to enjoy a truly unique view of the center of Florence and of Giotto's Bell Tower, so close that it will almost seem as if you can touch it.
By staying at Residenza Giotto you will find yourselves in the heart of the historic center of Florence.
During the day you can stroll the city streets letting yourselves be caught up in the atmosphere full of history and culture. You will find narrow side streets that open onto the beautiful squares like Santa Croce with its famous Church, housing tombs of many distinguished people; Piazza del Duomo with the Santa Maria del Fiore Cathedral, Giotto's bell tower and the Baptistery; Piazza della Signoria with the Old Palace (now the town hall), the fountain renamed "Biancone" by locals and the lovely Lanzi Loggia with its beautiful statues. Crossing the Arno river on the Old Bridge, renowned for it's gold and jewellry shops, you come to the Pitti Palace and closeby the old residential area of San Frediano well known for both its traditional and new artisan workshops.
If instead the weather is not conducive to strolling outside, you can visit the museums and galleries which house some of the most important artistic masterpieces of the world. For example the Uffizi gallery or the Accademy gallery as well as many other museums and palaces with shows and exhibitions by big international artists both from the past and the present.
And then when you have had enough culture you can be distracted by a little shopping in streets like Via Roma, Via Tornabuoni, Via Calzaiuoli and Via della Vigna Nuova, where you will find the most important of the Italian fashion designer names.
On your return home to the Residenza you can comfortably relax in your room, or on the terrace admiring the view of the Cathedral perhaps sipping a glass of wine or simply a cup of tea or cappuccino. In the evening you will be embarrassed by the choice of places to dine, from the many typical "trattorie", local wine bars which serve meals, or even a restaurant with international cuisine.
